The 24 hour Original Composition
for Le Méridien / Starwood Hotels
In 2007, Henri Scars Struck composed a ground-breaking 24-hour original soundtrack exclusively for Le Méridien Hotels (Starwood Hotels & Resorts), in support of the brand’s relaunch with their new program ”Unlocked Art.” The auditory experience was implemented in 120 properties worldwide for 5 years and involved music for two moments critical to the guest experience: as they enter the hotel and as they ride the elevator to their rooms or other parts of the hotel.
The soundtrack was divided into four sections of 6 hours: morning (waters), afternoon (forests), evening (markets & cafés) and night (crickets & campfires). This soundtrack incorporated rich natural sounds and original music compositions influenced by different cultures from around the globe. This program earned many awards such as “Best Innovative Concept in Full Service Hotels” at the 2009 Worldwide Hospitality Awards and garnered a lot of press.together.
